Orange Julius (Alida W)

Apricot Julius - Judy's adaption. Tina had sent me the connection of "Refreshing California Apricot Smoothie" which I want to try, but I didn't have all the ingredients, so I adapted the Orange Julius:

1/2 cup chopped apricots
1 cup milk
1 cup water
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. pure vanilla
8-9 ice cubes

Hot Apple Cider (Forsyth's)
1/2 c. Brown Sugar
1 tsp. allspice
2 tsp. whole cloves
2 cinnamon sticks
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
1 whole orange
1 gallon apple cider

Place filter in coffee basket, and fill with b rown sugar, allspice, cloves, cinnamon stick, nutmeg and orange wedges. Pour apple cider into coffee pot where the water usually goes. Brew, and serve hot.

Peach Punch (Forsyth)
4 c. peach nector (if the concentrate isn't found use the peach nector drink sometimes found in the Mexican section - 8 c & also the frozen or jar of peach/grape punch)
1, 6-oz frozen orange juice concentrate (or 2 quart of Sunny-D - isn't as powerful of orange juice flavor)
1, 1 liter bottle of gingerale & Lemon-lime gingerale
1 - pkg of frozen peaches - can add fresh whole strawberries

serves 20 1/2 cup servings

Simple Syrup for mixed drinks

2 cups sugar
1 cup water
1/4 cup corn syrup
1 oz vodka

Preparation:

First, place the sugar and water in a pot and heat it up. Stir the mixture until the sugar has fully dissolved.

Next add the alcohol and corn syrup and continue to stir.

Use a funnel and pour the mixture into a bottle to cool.

The simple syrup that we're making won't crystallize due to the corn syrup and won't grow bacteria or grow mold thanks to the single oz of vodka in the mix.
