I bought KP some plants since she now has a flower garden with live & artificial flowers and pinwheels. Also bought some strawberries to place in garden. I thought she may enjoy eating the berries when she walks in/out of the house. I know Jesse loves to eat berries right off the plants. It was decided to place them in a pot instead of right in the flower bed. Found a strawberry pot with elephants on that we thought were ideal. Ran out of time to do that night, so I brought it home & started my mess. Only, I thought, gee if I could find some more strawberry plants, I'd like to have one also :-) Placed rocks in the bottom and a cardboard tube which I cut holes to match the holes in the pot & filled tube with small rocks & sand (in hopes that it could be water in the tube causing the water to water more evenly?). I filled the pot by alternating top soil, peat moss, & sand. I never do anything the quick way.

Neighbor has been asking if can help for several months, not that I need any :-)

Anyway this time I accepted by having him help me pull the weeds. They were easy to pull since we just received rain the night before. But there were so-o-o many of them. Bless his heart for helping.

Idonna's lamb's-Quarters' recipe:

cook lamb's quarters adding salt & pepper & butter, stirring consistently until cooked down.

Idonna offered if I wanted vinegar (like some people like vinegar on spinach). I refused, but I did try a little of it with blue cheese dressing :-) I did think it tasted similar to spinach.

I picked some Lamb's Quarters & spinach to give to Idonna. After Daniel helped pull weeds he mentioned that his grandpa fixed lamb's quarters. I asked if it tasted like spinach. He said, "No, it reminded him potato soup." (I wonder if that was fixed similar to the Wild Frittata recipe I found on the web?) I'll have to ask for their recipe.

Frenchie had just mentioned about all of the "lamb's quarters" I had in the garden & that he picked a hand-full the other day from his place & that was just barely enough for them since it cooks down so much. Now I'll have to find his recipe.

Mom had mentioned that Dorothy had even been watering these weeds because they like them so much. I don't know how she fixes theirs. I'll have to ask.

Anyway, I thought, "Gee, I really haven't eaten it, I should ask Idonna to fix some for me because she may not remember when she's 100!" I previously picked & cleaned it & gave it to Idonna since she liked it so much.
